Fathom is a magazine in Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently books.

Fathom was an arts magazine published by Magna House. The magazine's editor was Michael Wenton-Weakes. Michael heavily mismanaged it, losing a lot of money.

After Michael's father Lord Magna's death, his mother Lady Magna sold the magazine to Gordon Way. Michael remained editor for three more issues and was then let go. He was succeeded by a new editor picked by Gordon, A. K. Ross, who made the magazine successful.

It published a piece titled "Music and Fractal Landscapes" by Richard MacDuff, on music and fractal landscapes and recursive algorithms.
